"Take the Weather With You" Released
Nashville, TN (Oct 10, 2006)
Multi-platinum singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett releases his newest album, Take The Weather With You, on Mailboat Records/RCA Nashville on October 10. Take The Weather With You is the follow-up to his first #1 debut album (on both the Top 200 and Country Charts), License To Chill, which featured duets with some of country’s biggest stars including Alan Jackson, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride and others. Buffett makes another foray into the arena of country music on Take The Weather With You but combines a variety of styles and sounds throughout the album from Nashville, New Orleans and Key West.
After recording more than forty records, the two-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter returns again to his country foundation with breezy ballads, interpretations of alt-country songs, a version of Merle Haggard's "Silver Wings" and mariachi horns in "Cinco De Mayo In Memphis."
"Without realizing it, I went to my roots on this record,” explains Buffett. “It's not a stretch for me to do country music.”
The album also includes the current single, “Bama Breeze,” a tribute to the historic bars along the Gulf Coast as well as a take on Mary Gauthier's "Wheel Inside The Wheel" with swampy rhythms crafted by Lafayette, Louisiana slide guitarist Sonny Landreth. Deeply affected by Hurricane Katrina, Buffett takes a philosophical look at the devastation of New Orleans in the ballad “Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On,” which he wrote with former drummer Matt Betton.
Throughout the recording of this album, Buffett brought together an excellent array of talented musicians such as the English rock band Gomez, on Neil and Tim Finn's (Crowded House) title track. Original Coral Reefer steel guitarist Doyle Grisham complements the enchanting sounds of Robert Greenidge (master steel drummer from Trinidad) as well as world-renowned percussionist Ralph MacDonald. Hawaiian ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro also appears on several songs.

Buffett Rocks the Palace
Versailles, Paris, FR (June 12, 2004) Never let it be said that The American Friends of Versailles don't know how to throw a party.
That group assembled here this week to celebrate their latest efforts with Le Grand Bal du Bosquet “Un Reve Magique”, a grand ball.
The attendees included scores of dignitaries including Rothschilds, Hearsts and Kissingers (just to namedrop).
The celebration Saturday night started with an unveiling of the newly restored Trois Fontaines Bosquet at the palace.
After a grand fireworks display, in a tux and black sandals, our phavorite performer got everyone up and dancing in the "house of the Sun King".
Jimmy managed to work in a side trip to Normandy, to visit the site of the D-day invasion and pay his respects, on this "business" trip.
No wonder he loves his job!

Jimmy is the debonair one in the middle and at the bottom of the page!
Also this week, phans started receiving copies of Mac McAnally' latest release "Semi-True Stories" and were suprised to find a bonus copy of Jimmy's "Hey Good Lookin" enclosed.
The single, which features many fine country artists, is still climbing at #14 on Billboard's country charts.
Song Lands Two More at Country Music Awards
MANDALAY BAY, LAS VEGAS, NV (May 26, 2004) Jimmy Buffett snagged two more award recognitions at the 38th annual
Country Music Association
awards on May 26th, 2004.
Alan Jackson thanked Jimmy and the phans as he accepted the awards for Vocal Event of the Year and Single of the Year for their "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" collaboration.
Jimmy got the news while in concert in Atlanta, Georgia where he beamed that he was starting to figure these things out.
Meanwhile, Buffett's cover of Hank Williams "Hey Good Lookin'" continues to climb the country charts up to #16 this week, even though it hasn't been released to the public yet.
The single is expected to be released before Jimmy's upcoming License to Chill CD, which is due out in July.
Benefit Funds Theater Group
CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE, OMAHA, NE (May 15, 2004) Jimmy Buffett donned a chef's jacket, prepared and served the first cheeseburger to distant cousin Warren Buffett at the opening of his new Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant in Omaha.
Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band sounded great opening for and later backing Jimmy.
ParrotHeads unable to snag tickets for the exclusive event stood under umbrellas in a light rain listening as Warren joined Jimmy on stage for a ukulele duet at the benefit show for the Omaha Theatre for Young People.
A guitar string Jimmy broke on his second tune fetched $180 at the charity auction while an autographed guitar went for $12,0000.

New dates for the License to Chill tour continue to be added to the schedule. The July Alpine Valley show in Wisconson
show sold out in minutes, leaving honest-to-goodness Parrot Heads no option but
to bid for the tickets on scalpers' auctions. Maybe Jimmy should
just put all the tickets directly on an auction site and make the scalpers bid
too!
Jimmy Lands One at 46th Grammy Awards
STAPLES CENTER, LOS ANGELES, CA (Feb 8, 2004) Jimmy Buffett and Alan Jackson's collaborative effort, "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere", scored again today winning the Grammy award for Best Country Song. (We always knew Bubba was a country boy at heart).
We also congratulate Jim "Moose" Brown & Don Rollins on this writer's award. Too bad that CBS and The Grammy's didn't make a live presentation on thier excruciatingly long show.
Now that he's been "discovered", we look forward to more collaborations and hope to see some of Jimmy's early works covered by others. He certainly has our nomination for a Lifetime Achievement Award.
New Recordings Available
MAUI, HI (Jan 30, 2004) Several songs from Jimmy Bufffet's Tiki Time Tour Hawaiian shows were taped for a DVD release, "Mini Matinee II" Checkout Mailboat Records for a direct copy!
Surprise From 37th Annual Country Music Awards
GRAND OLE OPRY HOUSE, NASHVILLE, TN (Nov 5, 2003) A barefoot Jimmy Buffett accompanied by the Coral Reefers delighted the audience at the annual Country Music Association awards show.
Jimmy joined his neighbor (well, they do live in the same city) Alan Jackson on his chart-topping song, "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere".
Jimmy shared the spotlight as Alan Jackson accepted the award for Vocal Event of the Year.
Parrot Heads around the world watched in delight as Jimmy won his first major music award.
A bespectacled Jimmy and his lovely wife Jane appeared to be having a ball as they watched the rest of the show.
Bubba Supports the Troops
GUANTANAMO BAY NAS, CUBA (Dec 6, 2002) Jimmy Buffett accompanied by a handful of musicians visited and entertained the troops here at the Navy base which houses 620 terror suspects.
The musician landed his pontoon plane, Air Margarita One, on Guantanamo Bay and then deplaned to the waiting Naval phans.
Later, commenting about his smooth landing, Jimmy quipped "Nobody shot at me, that was great" referring to an incident over Jamaica a few years earlier.
